Captain-in-Training (CIT)

• Must have attended NOCP previously or have boating/captaining experience
• Must already have taken the USCG Boating Safely course or equivalent
• Must already have CPR/First Aid certification
• Must be willing to get involved with and support an Ocean Tribe/Challenge chapter after the program in your community/nation.

CIT’s must arrive on Saturday, June 29th and depart on Wednesday, August 7

Additional Costs for all Participants, Group Leaders, and CITs:
Fishing License:
All participants, group leaders, and CITs must purchase an annual fishing license and king salmon stamp. NOCP cannot purchase these for participants, thus they will be purchased after their arrival in Kodiak. The cost of a license and a king salmon stamp is $245 for non-Alaska residents and $39 for Alaska residents. Please bring your payment in cash or check.
Additional Nights and Meals:
NOCP strongly encourages that you arrive and depart on the designated dates specified by your program. If you must stay for any additional days/nights before or after the program, NOCP will charge $20 a day for lodging and meals will not be provided.
Supply Rental:
The following supplies can be rented on-site for the duration of the program:
Cotton sleeping bags - $10
Rubber boots - $10 (limited sizes available)

Scholarships
Limited, additional scholarships are available to those who need more financial support. Select the scholarship option when filling out the application form. For 21-day applicants the scholarship available is $400. For CIT applicants the scholarship is $500.

A Deposit of $250 must be made in order to hold your place as soon as you receive confirmation on your acceptance into the program.
Payment
Payments can be paid online through the donation button on the Ocean Challenge website or can be sent as a check or money order to:

Full Payment Deadline: the program payment balance is due by June 1st.
Refund Policy
If you make a deposit and cancel coming to the program before June 1st your $250 deposit will be fully returned. If you cancel after June 1st your deposit will be forfeited.
In the event you are unable to attend the program after making your full payment, the tuition fee you paid, excluding the $250 deposit, will be returned.
