NOCP Head Cook Application

Role Details
Main Program Dates: July 1-23, 2024. We’d prefer to have the cook arrive at least 2-3 days early to orient, shop, and prepare.
Prepare menu and meals for 45 participants and staff
Land days - breakfast, lunch, dinner all at church
We usually have 1-2 BBQ days at a local park
Ocean/hike days - breakfast & prep to-go lunch materials (participants make their own sandwiches), dinner at church
Tournament days - to-go breakfast & lunch for 5am departure, dinner at church
Prep times - We’ve found historically that cooks work the following hours:
Breakfast - 6am prep for breakfast at 7. During breakfast, layout/prep lunch making materials if lunch is to-go
Lunch (if on land) - 10:30am-12pm for lunch at 12pm
Dinner - 4-6pm with dinner at 6pm
NOCP teams do all the dishes :)
Shopping for program food
Shop locally (a Safeway, a Walmart, a small wholesale shop are the three options)
Work with Director to place produce orders that are flown in in bulk
Work with a 1 cooking assistant
Cook will have a vehicle available and can explore Kodiak during their downtime
Work Space
NOCP cooks and eats in Angel Garden, the Kodiak Family Church’s main church building
We have a large kitchen (inspected) with lots of prep and storage space
Requirements
Excitement to support the vision and mission of NOCP
Enjoy cooking :)
Must have prior experience cooking for similar sized groups
We like to use a lot of the fish we catch in our meals, so experience preparing fish is a plus!

Free domestic round trip flight to and from Kodiak
Free room and board (staff stay in North Garden)
$3000 stipend
Option of 1 day off a week and the opportunity to go fishing or hiking with a team
