Our 2021 Participants

Daniel Sato - NV

What I'm most excited for is the opportunity to go out to the ocean and connect to Father Moon’s love for the ocean. Also I am excited to witness the nature of the Ocean and Kodiak Island. Overall I think it would be a great time to connect to Father and Mother Moon, connect to the nature, connect to others and connect to my self.

Chloe Wojtowicz - IL

I feel God the strongest through nature, and being completely immersed in His creation through NOCP would be a profound way of renewing my relationship with God. I have a special connection with God through water; God, like bodies of water, remains as steady, level, and serene as the horizon of the water, no matter how tumultuous the waves. I’m also excited to cultivate new connections with fellow participants and captains.

Tatsuhiro

Narifusa - NV

I am excited to attend NOCP because I know that the Ocean is where Father Moon spent so much of his time reflecting and setting goals. I am excited to understand God and Father and Mother Moon more through this. I also would like to reflect upon my past year as part of CARP LV and pray about what God has in store for me going into the future. At the same time my dad especially has been big on the vision of Ocean Providence and I want to see the Ocean for myself and what God has created out there for me to explore and learn from.

Lena Iwasaki - PA

I’m honestly excited for everything I’ve heard so far about NOCP. From the education to being really challenged in the ocean I think this is going to be life-changing for me. With where I am at in my life I think NOCP is exactly what I need. I’ll be going to NOCP right after my GPA graduation and I want to treat this time in the ocean to reflect about my past three years. I also want to connect even deeper to True Father’s love for the ocean, fishing and ALASKA!

Karen Ishiguro - CA

I am excited to attend NOCP to experience God's love through nature and revitalize my spirit. I am hoping to gain revitalization in my life of faith by experiencing God through nature.

Hosanna Nitro - NJ

I am excited to experience new things outside my comfort zone. I want to be able to relate with Father Moon more, and develop a new skill, building up endurance to overcome difficulties.

Francis Marchitelli - IL

Since I was very young I always enjoyed fishing. My grandfather was a big fisherman in his village in Spain and have always had a strong connection to the ocean. I have recently felt a calling to learn more about the ocean providence. I want to gain a better understanding and connection with the ocean providence and its importance in the world. I would also like to make more connections with people and I hope to learn new fishing skills.

Preston Grodner - NY

I am really excited to connect more to Father Moon’s love of fishing as well as possibly have an experience with God to deepen my Faith.

Yuhtoku Fujikake - CA

I am hoping to gain a greater understanding of Father Moon's heart toward the ocean as well as a greater appreciation for creation.

Josh LaRue - IL

I’m excited to experience life in the ocean and connect to God’s love through nature and Father and Mother Moon’s love for the ocean and ocean providence. I’m hoping to gain clarity and spiritual rejuvenation to offer up my experiences over the past 3 years on GPA.

Vadim Llanto - CA

I want to fish. I am excited for an opportunity to be in Alaska and outdoors and get to meet new people. I am hoping to gain outdoor experiences and fishing skills. I also want to gain a new direction for what I will do next.

Connor Redmond - MD

When I was 10 years old my sister did Ocean Challenge, and after hearing her experience and tasting the salmon she brought home, I knew I wanted to participate someday myself. 12 years later and that goal is becoming a reality! My main motivation in joining NOCP is to experience Father and Mother Moon’s heart and come to know God and his love through nature. I am also very interested in Ocean Providence, and I am excited to learn more about it while on Ocean Challenge.

Andreas Pock - Germany

I've always wanted to attend the Ocean Challenge Program at least once in my life to experience the ocean and the adventure Father Moon describes and talks about when speaking about the ocean. His stories about training himself in character and faith while on the ocean and deeply experiencing God while fishing has always been inspirational to me. I am looking for an opportunity to challenge myself and practice renovation in my life. Currently, I am studying and would like to experience the NOCP to make a new start in my life and a commitment to carry on a life of faith and contribution to society, a life of true spirituality lived for the sake of others, and inherit Father and Mother Moon’s heart, spirit, and love for God, this world and all people.

Yasuhiro Ishiyama - WA

After one of the busiest and stressful years of my life, I want to take this time to reflect back on how God has been working behind the scenes through it all. Being out on the sea is also a great way to tap into the heart TP had whenever they went out fishing.

Our 2021 Team Leaders

Younng-Joo Scharf - CA

I have always wanted to experience leadership training in the ocean through fishing. I feel that there is a whole new level of experiencing the heart of God and Father and Mother Moon that I am missing out on unless I get to go on the water! I want to experience God in a whole new way. I also want to come closer to True Parents through the ocean and through my brothers and sisters.

Soonmee Iwasaki - PA

I am excited to bond as staff and create an unforgettable experience for the participants. I am hoping to gain a stronger and deeper bond with Father Moon and a wider love for the ocean/creation.

Jerry Olson - TX

I’m excited to go to Ocean Challenge this year because I’ve gone so many times with the mindset of “gaining” something. However this time I really want to give and share my testimony with others and how it impacted me internally. Whether it’s through serving or fellowship, I’m excited to touch peoples hearts with my brotherly love and create a family relationship with everyone. I hope to gain a bigger perspective on ocean Providence and a sense on how I can personally contribute to ocean challenge and Providence. I feel a calling to this specific mission

Our 2021 Captains-in-Training

Hanmin von Euw - CA

I had such an amazing experience when attending NOCP in the past that I would like to help support the program so that others can have an amazing experience too. I am hoping to gain the experience and knowledge, from the Senior Captains, so that I can become a captain for NOCP.

Josef Buergi - CA

I am excited to attend NOCP to connect to TF's Ocean Church spirit. I want to grow in leadership and help make unforgettable experiences to the participants. I am hoping to gain leadership skills and clarity on what God's direction is for me.
